Early-years teaching exam set for 10 November with a new selection panel
The first paper in the competitive examination for the early-years teaching assistant post advertised by Montserrat town hall will be held on Tuesday 10 November at 4pm at the former Evaristo Calatayud school, 30 Alfredo García street. Candidates must bring their identity document.
The paper comes after almost two months of delay. A mayoral decree on 24 September suspended the examination after three candidates appealed on 17 and 22 September against the makeup of the panel. The town clerk’s report on 28 October partly backs them: the sixth clause of the terms requires the chair to be a career civil servant of Montserrat town hall, whereas the person appointed was a teacher at a nursery school in another municipality, and several panel members were on employment contracts rather than civil-servant status, even though article 67 of Valencia’s Law 4/2021 on public service requires selection panels to be made up exclusively of civil servants and more than half of them to hold a qualification in the post’s field.
Mayoral resolution 3051 of 29 October partly upholds the appeals, replaces the panel and lifts the suspension. Marcos Campos Añón, an administrative civil servant at the town hall, chairs it, with Rosa María Campos Campos as his substitute. The panel members are María Costa Moltó, Patricia Isabel Lázaro Fernández and Eva María Muñoz Romero, teachers at CEIP San Juan, each with a substitute; the municipal secretary, Pablo Salvador Gieure Sastre, acts as secretary, and the town hall’s language adviser, Mercedes Guillén i Poveda, advises the panel.
The paper is compulsory and eliminatory, but only for candidates who do not hold the C1 Valencian language certificate (the JQCV intermediate level or equivalent). The second paper, a multiple-choice test, will be announced on the electronic noticeboard and on the municipal transparency portal.
One post is on offer, grade C1, special administration scale, open competition, and the process includes setting up a reserve pool. It stems from the public employment offer published in the Valencia provincial gazette on 17 March 2026 and from terms approved on 30 April — announced in the gazette of 13 May — so the tests were due to be held in September.
The resolution ends the administrative route: an appeal for reconsideration may be lodged within one month, or a judicial review claim within two.
