The episode closes with 75.2 litres per square metre at Masia Trinitat and 85 at Casadalt since Saturday night. The Generalitat no longer has alerts, AEMET’s special notice 37/2026 is no longer in force, the forecast gives a 0% chance of rain today and the council has reopened the sports courts, the cemetery, the dog park and access to flood-prone areas.
At 11.50 pm on Monday AEMET’s full-state bulletin listed no active warning on the northern Valencian coast or in any of the four zones of the province of Valencia, and the rain had stopped in the afternoon: 42.2 litres since midnight at Masia Trinitat and 40.6 at Casadalt.
Montserrat town council is keeping school activity as normal and has closed the sports courts, the cemetery, the dog park and access to flood-prone areas for as long as the orange warning is in force, which the council puts until 2 pm. It also advises against using parks and gardens and asks residents to avoid unnecessary travel.
AEMET reissued its warnings for the northern Valencian coast at 8.27 am on Monday: the orange rain warning runs until 1.59 pm, with 60 litres in an hour and 150 in twelve, dropping to yellow from 2 pm until midnight. Rain has left 41 litres since midnight at Masia Trinitat and 28.2 at Casadalt, with 73.6 and 76.6 litres over the past 48 hours.
Rain has brought between 25.6 and 29.2 litres per square metre at AVAMET’s two Montserrat stations since 11.30 pm on Saturday, including a burst of 11.2 litres in ten minutes at Casadalt before midnight. At 9.40 am it was still raining lightly (0.8 litres in the past hour) and the orange warning holds until 3.59 am on Monday.
The rain episode that began shortly before 11.30 pm on Saturday is over, with 75.2 litres per square metre recorded at the Masia Trinitat station and 85 at Casadalt, no warning in force anywhere in the province of Valencia and the town back to normal after the council reopened the facilities it had closed on Monday.
Two and a half days of rain
Figures from the Associació Valenciana de Meteorologia (AVAMET), consulted at 9.15 am on Tuesday, split the water over three days: between 11.30 pm on Saturday and midnight 3.8 litres fell at Masia Trinitat — the station the paper shows on its front page — and 7 at Casadalt; on Sunday, 29.2 and 37.4; and on Monday, 42.2 and 40.6. The last shower was recorded at 11.55 am on Monday at Masia Trinitat and at 2.50 pm at Casadalt, and neither gauge has recorded anything since.
The heaviest spell came early on Monday: between 8.30 and 9.30 am Casadalt took 10.6 litres and Masia Trinitat 7.8. For the month the two stations stand at 124 and 150 litres, and Casadalt reaches 496.2 litres so far this year.
A much wetter region
Over the past 72 hours the region has taken far more water than the town. Alzira la Casella has recorded 282.6 litres per square metre; Alzira la Murta, 188.6; Carcaixent Hort de Soriano, 162; Alzira l’Alquenència, 121.6, and Guadassuar IES Didín Puig, 88, while Tous shows 72.8 and Llombai 60.5. In Real, the neighbouring municipality, the AVAMET station has recorded 56.6 litres.
No warnings and a clear forecast
Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) no longer has any warning in force: the full-state bulletin issued at 11.50 pm on Monday lists no warnings in any of the four zones of the province of Valencia, and the agency’s special notices page no longer carries special adverse weather notice 37/2026, which covered the episode. The Generalitat’s Emergency Coordination Centre has no alerts either in the areas that affect the town, according to the status published by the 112 Comunitat Valenciana service, consulted at 7.32 am on Tuesday.
AEMET’s municipal forecast for Montserrat (code 46172) gives a 0% chance of rain today and for the next three days, rising to 15% on Saturday afternoon. Maximum temperatures climb to 25 °C today and tomorrow, with minimums of 12 and 12.
Back to normal
Montserrat town council issued a notice on its WhatsApp channel on Monday with preventive measures: it said «l’activitat escolar continuarà amb normalitat» — school activity would go ahead as normal — and announced the closure of the sports courts and pitches, the cemetery, the dog park and access to flood-prone areas, and advised against using parks and gardens. On Tuesday the facilities have reopened and the town is back to its usual activity.
Earlier this month Montserrat went through another episode of intense rain that kept AEMET’s red warning in force along the northern Valencian coast between Thursday 1 and Friday 2 October, with municipal facilities closed and events suspended.
