The 2026 Setmana Taurina brings eight days of street bull events from 17 to 24 August

The Penya Taurina «Prova i Entrà» has released the programme for Montserrat's 2026 Setmana Taurina, to be held from 17 to 24 August as part of the Festes Majors, with eight consecutive days of street bull events and some fifteen livestock breeders taking part.

The cycle opens on Monday 17 at midnight with the Grand «Asos del Asfalt» Contest, featuring Ivanet bulls and a bou embolat. From Tuesday 18 the programme follows its usual structure: prova i entrà at 1 pm, novilladas at 7 pm and a major night event at midnight — on that first day, the unboxing of Laura Parejo's bulls. Wednesday 19 features La Paloma and the Asensi Brothers, closing the night with El Salero's Gran Prix and a street bou embolat.

On Thursday 20 and Sunday 23 events start at 8 am with David Alfaro's bou en corda. The week also includes Thursday's Concurs de Retalladors with Benavent livestock, the children's Transhumància on Friday 21 morning and, that same night, the Concurs d'Emboladors with Fernando Machancoses bulls. Saturday 22, devoted to Benavent, culminates in the Concurs de Bous with Laura Parejo, the Guillamón Brothers and the Navarro Morell Brothers, while on Sunday 23 the Concurs de Vaques brings together the Salero, Asensi, Navarre and A. Garrido herds, after M.A. Mínguez's novillada.

The closing day, Monday 24, features the Navarre Brothers' prova i entrà and the 7 pm Arriazu Special, ending with a Daniel Sánchez bou embolat. The line-up is completed by the sessions of Daniel Sánchez (Tuesday 18), Fernando Machancoses (Thursday 20) and Raúl Izquierdo and El Salero (Friday 21).
