The 45th Chamber Music Week fills the square across all six nights
The 45th Montserrat International Chamber Music Week has closed its 2026 edition with a full house on each of the six concert nights scheduled from 20 to 25 July. Every performance began at 10.30 pm in the Plaça de l'Església, with a line-up bringing together ensembles from Spain, Italy and Germany and ranging from Mozart's classicism to contemporary saxophone.
The programme opened on Monday 20 July with the Quinteto Cuesta (Spain). On Tuesday 21 the Camerata Strumentale Siciliana (Italy) performed 'Mozart and the Elegance of the Wind: the Flute Quartets', and on Wednesday 22 MaBacDuo (Spain) presented 'Spanish Dreams'. The second half of the week began on Thursday 23 with a night of song featuring soprano Aurora Peña (Spain); on Friday 24 the Arcis Saxophon Quartett (Germany) brought its 'Unusual Chronicles' and on Saturday 25 Kirill Troussov and Friends closed the festival with 'Great Romantic Sextets' (Spain).
The line-up combined classical and contemporary repertoire on the same stage, with six consecutive nights that once again turned the heart of the village into the open-air chamber music hall of the Ribera. Audience response was complete at every one of the six sessions: no tickets were left for any of the festival dates.
Organised with the support of Montserrat Town Council, the Week has maintained its commitment to quality and proximity for more than four decades, with an audience that returns every July and fills the square year after year. The 45th edition thus confirms the town's position as a meeting point for chamber music in the Ribera on summer nights.
