The 30 July plenary welcomes two new councillors and ratifies EU DANA funding

The Montserrat Town Council will hold its ordinary July plenary session on Thursday 30 July. The session will begin at 8 pm in the Saló de Plens (plenary hall) and will address changes in the municipal political groups following the latest additions.

In the resolutive section, the council will appoint spokespersons for the VOX and Partit Popular political groups following the swearing-in of councillor José Jacinto Ortiz Sanchis and councillor Coral Espinosa Bensach respectively. The proposed agreement for the partial-dedication position of councillor Coral Espinosa Bensach will also be put to a vote.

The plenary will also ratify the mayoral decree accepting the provisional allocation of 6,000,000 euros from the European Union Solidarity Fund (EUSF) for the repair of damage caused by the October 2024 DANA (isolated high-altitude depression). The inclusion of new prices in the DANA repair works contract (LOT 4), to replace the gabion solution with a riprap wall on the camí Entraysale, will also be put to a vote.

The council will also vote on a public recognition of the leadership of the Civil Protection Volunteers' Association (Agrupació de Voluntaris de Protecció Civil) on the 30th anniversary of its formation — an association that for three decades has been a key part of the municipal response to emergencies.

In financial matters, the session includes the closure and settlement of the budget through the approval of the 2025 General Account, along with two urgent credit modification files. The mayoral decrees and resolutions of the last month and the agreements of the Local Government Board of 25 June will also be reported.
