Montserrat pilota shines: youth title and Óscar leading the Galotxa Championship

Valencian pilota in Montserrat is enjoying a notable 2026 season. The town's youth academy has won the regional under-10 title at the El Corte Inglés Galotxa Trophy, while CPV Montserrat representative Óscar leads the senior Individual Championship standings.

Mondefruta Montserrat became champion of the under-10 A final at the 51st El Corte Inglés Regional Galotxa Championship after defeating Inmobiliaria Palanca Fontestad Foios 50-25. The match was played at Montserrat's pilota street, which hosted the eight A and B level youth finals over three days.

The victory gave the host club one of the four main A final titles. The event brought together young players from several towns and was organised with the support of Montserrat Town Council and CPV Montserrat.

The club's strong form is also evident in the 15th Itegra Individual Galotxa Championship. Óscar of CPV Montserrat beat Adrián of CPV Borbotó 70-45 in the fourth Primera Carrer round. The Montserrat player gradually extended his advantage before sealing another victory.

Óscar now leads the standings with nine points, ahead of Xato of CPV Quart de les Valls on seven. The Montserrat representative will sit out the final regular-season round, but has already secured a top-two finish and qualification for the final stage.

Together, the two results underline Montserrat's importance in regional galotxa, from its development work with young players to the club's presence at senior level.
