Montserrat unveils the full 2026 Festes Majors programme, running into late August
The Montserrat town council has released the full programme for the 2026 Festes Majors, running from early July to late August with a wide range of events organised by the town council together with the Falla Montserrat, the Falla el Castellet, the Societat Instructiva Unió Musical (SIUM) and several local «penyes».
July: sport, music and activities for all ages
- The programme opens on Friday 3 July with the Futbet Championship finals, at 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm.
- Plaça de la Constitució will host the children's and family activities «Jugacirc» (10 July), «Jurassic Joc» (17 July) and «Toysland» (24 July), from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm.
- On Saturday 11, at 10 pm, Plaça de l'Església will host the presentation of Lucía Galán Alemany as Regina de les Festes 2026.
- At 7.30 pm on 17 July, Casa de la Cultura will host the presentation of the International Chamber Music Week (SIMC). The Marching Bands Festival follows on Saturday 18, with a parade at 7.30 pm and a concert at 8 pm in Plaça de l'Església.
- The 45th SIMC will offer concerts from 20 to 25 July, at 10.30 pm, in Plaça de l'Església. There will also be tir i arrossegament, a traditional horse-pulling competition, in carrer Arts Gràfiques on 24, 25 and 26 July, organised by Penya El Senill.
- July concludes with the 11th Montserrat 10K on Friday 31 at 8 pm, starting from Avinguda Jaume I.
August brings the main festivities
- The XX Sopar de Quintes will take place in Avinguda Jaume I on 1 August, with the Wanda orchestra and entertainer José Coll. Festa de l'Aigua, with attractions and workshops, follows on the 7th at Pàrquing de Jaume I.
- The Traca Kilométrica will run through the town on Saturday 8 at 1 pm; in the early hours, the La Máxima orchestra will provide the revetlla in Plaça de la Constitució. The Grand Festivities Parade is on Thursday 13 at 7 pm.
- Friday 14 features a Valencian pilota match at 6.30 pm and, at 11.30 pm, the SIUM concert in honour of Our Lady of August.
- The Feasts of Our Lady of August (15 August) and Sant Roc (16 August) include mortar salutes, processions, mascletà fireworks and a fireworks display. Sant Roc night will close with the La Royal orchestra in Plaça de la Constitució.
- Monday 17 is Musician's Day, with a communal dinner and revetlla. Setmana Taurina runs from 17 to 24 August; on Thursday 20 at 10.30 pm, Nit del Major brings the «Veus del Mediterrani» show to Plaça de la Constitució.
