Montserrat voters have until Monday 19 October to check the electoral roll
The Ajuntament de Montserrat is keeping open until Monday 19 October the service for consulting the electoral roll and filing claims for the general election of 29 November, as set out in the timetable of the Electoral Census Office. Anyone wishing to check their registration and details can do so in person at the town hall, at Avinguda Blasco Ibáñez, 51, or online at the INE’s electronic office, where identification through the Cl@ve system or an electronic ID card is required. Claims about registration errors must be filed within the same window, from 12 to 19 October, and the free information line is 900 343 232.
The consultation roll lists 7,435 voters in Montserrat: 7,329 residents in the municipality and 106 registered abroad, who may vote without a prior request. Across the province of Valencia the figure rises to 2,067,797 voters, and the constituency elects 16 of the 350 members of the Congress of Deputies.
The electoral map for 29 November is now settled. The province’s official gazette, the Boletín Oficial de la Provincia de València, published on 12 October the list of polling tables (mesas) and polling stations, which in Montserrat amount to ten tables across five sections and four venues:
Sections, tables and venues
- Section 1: Llar del Jubilat, carrer Major 19 (two tables).
- Section 2: Ajuntament, plaça de l’Església 1 (two tables).
- Section 3: Casa de la Cultura, carrer Dos de Maig 6 (three tables).
- Section 4: Centre d’Interpretació Cultural, carrer Federico García Lorca 22 (two tables).
- Section 5: Casa de la Cultura, carrer Dos de Maig 6 (one table).
Voters can also check their table and venue on the INE website without electronic identification, by entering the province, the municipality and the initial of their first surname. Polling cards, stating the section, the table and the venue’s address, will start to be posted on 2 November. The delimitation of sections and tables may be challenged before the Provincial Electoral Board until 18 October, and the definitive list will be published from 19 November.
The draw for the members of each polling table —a chair, two members and two substitutes for every post— will be held in each municipality between 31 October and 4 November under the supervision of the District Electoral Board, and those selected will be notified between 3 and 7 November; the role carries an allowance of €75. Candidates are submitted from 21 to 26 October and proclaimed on 2 November, the campaign runs from 13 to 27 November and the polling stations will open on Sunday 29 November from 9 am to 8 pm. Anyone unable to vote that day can apply for a postal vote at any post office until 19 November.
