Bàsquet Montserrat A beat L’Alcúdia in their Preferente opener (69-65)

Bàsquet Montserrat A have beaten B.C. L’Alcúdia 69-65 in the opening round of group C in the Preferente division, played on Saturday 10 October at 7 pm at the municipal sports hall of Montserrat, in carrer Arts Gràfiques (Arts Gràfiques street).

The home side led the first quarter 18-10 and went in at half-time ahead (30-24), but the visitors levelled the game at the end of the third (45-45). The final period, won 24-20, sealed the win for Montserrat.

The win leaves Montserrat second in the group on two points, level with the leaders, Talleres Mestre.

The senior A team play their second round on the court of CD San Pedro Moixent-La Font de la Figuera, scheduled for Friday 30 October at 9 pm, while the senior B side were due on court at Gent Vikinga Basket on Sunday 18 at 11 am. The league returns to the municipal sports hall on Saturday 24 October, when C.B. Dimar visit.

The youth teams also start this month: the cadet (under-16) side make their debut on Saturday 17 October in Picassent against Grupo Martorell Picassent (12.30 pm) and the infantil (under-14) team do so the same day on the court of Sportiu Xe Alaquàs (9 am). The alevín (under-12) side start at home on Saturday 24 October against B.C. L’Alcúdia.

The municipal sports hall is once again the setting for the town’s basketball, with the club’s five teams —two senior sides and three youth teams— entered in the competitions of the Federació de Bàsquet de la Comunitat Valenciana (FBCV).
